A while back I had an adventurous trip to Oregon. It was actually my first time to the state and I decided to drive the distance so I could see the beauty of it all. I really wanted to get lost up there and find obscure places to camp and take it all in.
It all started with a full eclipse on the way up at the CA/OR border. I wasn’t going to miss a once in a lifetime opportunity. It was awesome and even makes a brief appearance in the video. I kept driving and found myself camping near some hot springs in the Umpqua National Forest. It was so green! A bit rainy but so green and beautiful. I even had to desaturate my footage so I wouldn’t be accused of adding color. I loved every moment. There were waterfalls everywhere and I enjoyed hiking back country a ways with my Cineslider, tripods, cameras, etc. At night I’d set up a few time lapses, some which worked out, others not. A fuse actually went out on my Kessler Oracle device so I had to scourge my car of all cables and fuse boxes to MacGuyver a way to make it work. It did.
The best shots are toward the end so you got to sit this one through! If you want info on learning to fly, contact me and I’ll hook you up with the best dudes ever.
